Finally, A Blog. With News.

After five long, torturous weeks of (mostly) secret-keeping (and if you know me at all you know I am terrible at keeping secrets) I finally have permission to share the most amazing news!

There is going to be a third Fins book!

Yes, more Lily and Quince. And Tellin. And Peri. And Doe and Brody and a whole new cast of mer characters you've never met before! Also, I have two words for you: arctic mermaids. *dies with happiness*

And, the even more exciting news (you might be thinking that things can't more exciting, but they can!) is that it will be out next summer. As in summer 2012. As in before Sweet Shadows comes out. As in, yes, I'll have two books out again next year.

Hooray!!!

The first draft is (just barely) finished and still needs lots of work. Lots of work. And the book has a probable title, but I'm going to hold off on that for a little while.

That's all for now.

As you were.

Hugs,
TLC

PS. Aren't you impressed that I didn't even make you guess or wait or follow some elaborate treasure hunt of obscure clues and random websites to learn this news? I think I'm maturing. Or, maybe, I'm just exhausted after finishing the first draft of the book in record time.

PPS. I'm not sure what's up with all the italics and parentheticals. Maybe it's a new trend. Or, maybe, it's another symptom of post-draft exhaustion.

Monday Giveaway: Tell Me A Secret

*** contest over and the winner is SwimmerGirl ***

This week's Monday Giveaway is the debut novel from fabulous and darling Seattle YA author Holly Cupala. I'm giving away a signed copy of Tell Me A Secret.

It's tough living in the shadow of a dead girl. . . .

In the five years since her bad-girl sister Xanda's death, Miranda Mathison has wondered about the secret her sister took to the grave, and what really happened the night she died. Now, just as Miranda is on the cusp of her dreams—a best friend to unlock her sister's world, a ticket to art school, and a boyfriend to fly her away from it all—Miranda has a secret all her own.

When two lines on a pregnancy test confirm her worst fears, Miranda is stripped of her former life. She must make a choice with tremendous consequences and finally face her sister's demons and her own.

In this powerful debut novel, stunning new talent Holly Cupala illuminates the dark struggle of a girl who must let go of her past to find a way into her own future.

And check out this amazing trailer!
