First, with the holiday season in full swing, I want to give you, my readers, the one thing that no one else can: a short story. (Okay, maybe other writers--or aspiring writers--can give you a short story, but not one written by me.) On each of the Twelve Days of Christmas (that's December 25 through January 5) I will post a new chapter of the story. That means there will be twelve chapters in all. And that sums up everything I know about the story at this point. Things I don't know about the story yet:
- Who it will be about. (Maybe a character from OH. MY. GODS.)
- What it will be about. (It might be a Christmas story or a winter story or a completely random story about neither Christmas nor winter. We'll find out together on the First Day of Christmas.)

Second, many of you know that I've gotten the first of the advance copies of GODDESS BOOT CAMP. And you might also know that most have them have already been given away (to family, friends, booksellers, a contest winner, and into my personal archives). At the moment I have one (1) copy left. Rather than decide arbitrarily which reviewer or fan gets this prize, I'm going to hold a contest to determine who is the most worthy. I'm not releasing full details yet (maybe because I'm not fully certain yet) but here are two facts:
- The contest will begin in mid-January.
- It will consist of twelve tasks (like the Twelve Labors of Hercules).
So whaddya think? Are these fun things on the horizon? Check back starting on Christmas day for the Great Short Story Experiment, and then again in mid-January for the Twelve Labors contest.
Hugs,
TLC

Hey, if you let me know the details of the contest next month, I'll be glad to plug it on my blog. And enter myself!
Hey, I have nominated your blog for the Good Job award. The parameters can be found on today's blog post.
Thanks!!!

(Yikes. I need to proof these things before I post. I really don't start every sentence with "hey" in real life!)

Ha ha, Gerb. I catch myself doing that all the time (and probably *don't* catch it plenty of other times). Thanks for the Good Job nomination. It's next on my bloggin list. And I'll be sure to let you know about the contest when I figure it out.
