Famous Connections

Who hasn't heard of the idea of Six Degrees of Separation? (Or, you know, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.) The concept that you are six steps or less away from every other person on the planet means that Harrison Ford, David Beckham, and the Queen of England are all a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend.

But, thankfully, some people are closer than others. While watching the season finale of NCIS (love!) last night, I discovered a new famous connection in my life. This one came from my college years. I thought I'd share some more eduction-related connections.

Kickapoo High School
Springfield, MO
Brad Pitt
The most famous Chief
we played tennis for the same coach
graduated 1982
Lucas Grabeel
High School Musical star
graduated 2004
Jay Kenneth Johnson
Days of Our Lives heartthrob
we actually walked the halls of Kickapoo at the same time!
graduated 1995

Columbia University
New York, NY
Casey Affleck
Ben's baby brother
studied physics for 2 years
didn't graduate
(that's okay, I didn't either)
Jesse Bradford
aka the hot boy in Bring It On
studied film
graduated 2002

University of Colorado

Boulder, CO
Robert Redford
could there be a more famous connection?
didn't graduate (hasn't hurt him much)

Brian Dietzen
(this is my newest connection!)
stars as Dr. Palmer on NCIS
we were in the CU theatre department at the same time and actually worked on three shows together (Comedy of Errors, Abingdon Square, and Tartuffe)

So... got any famous connections of your own?

Hugs,
TLC

Great subject! And you're only 2 degrees of separation from Wolf Wigo, the water polo Olympian from your March 9th Buzz blog entry. I knew him when he was a little kid in St. Croix--his parents were friends of mine--and then we kept in contact when they moved to New York. Isn't it a small world?

Hmmm... I am 6 degrees from Clint Black (he went to my h.s., but not while I was there), and hmm... I can't think of anyone else! Oh, and I didn't mean to make you sound like a mercenary! I just thought it was so fun and awesome in the midst of all that R.R. insanity! Craziest day at the bookstore ever, lemme tell ya! :)

Dude, I live in Los Angeles. I AM the celebrity. Seriously, though...there are too many to name (obnoxious as that sounds). Here are a couple: I'm related to Jason Alexander (like a cousin by marriage or something)...Dave Grohl shops at the same grocery store as my...and a friend of mine was in a movie with Jesse Bradford (who I LOVED in B.I.O., but who is apparently not as cool as he seems on the screen)...such a bummer.
