Starbucks du Jour

As my regular readers know, I am a Starbucks addict. I do virtually all of my writing while seated in one of their comfy chairs--whether it’s in Florida, Wisconsin, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, or back home in Houston.

You would think that, as an almost-daily customer, I would have a regular drink order. I don’t. I have CDADD (Coffee Drink Attention Deficit Disorder). The baristas always try to guess. “You get a ... ?” I feel bad because I always have to explain that I change things up. I’ll go for a few days, maybe, getting the same drink. Eventually I get bored--or money and/or calorie-conscious--and get something completely different.

At first, I almost always got a mocha. I’m not really a chocolate person (I know, I’m a disgrace to girlhood everywhere) but I do like a hot, steamy mocha.

Then I discovered the caramel frappuccino. So much icy blended goodness. The calories, though ... not so good.

For a while it was caramel macchiatos because I love caramel as much as normal women love chocolate.

Next, after McDonald’s introduced their iced coffees (which I love), I thought I should give the Starbuck’s version a try. It took some experimenting, but I finally settled on a grande size with three pumps of toffee nut syrup and a splash of cream. D-lish.

Lately, though, it’s the soy chai latte (either hot or iced). I figure that the soy proteins are good for me and the chai and vanilla flavor is just yummy. It makes me think of Christmas.

So, there you have my crazy variety of Starbuck’s orders. What do you get at your local coffee haunt? Do you get the same thing every time? Or do you jump around the menu board, like me?

Hugs,
TLC

Mmmmmmmmmmm Starbucks... I love it so. I am with you on the caramel all the way - I have 3 drinks of choice, depending on money/season/calorie-consciousness... non-fat Caramel Macchiato, skinny iced caramel macchiato, or regular old Pike Place blend in all its goodness. Oh, and I'll have that as a Venti all the way, baby! :)
