There's the basic Downhill--that's the strapping the skis and heading down bit. There's also the Slolam, the one where you have to weave back and forth between poles as you fly down the mountain. Then there's the Super G (aka Super Giant Slolam), which is basically like the Slolam, except the poles are farther apart and the skiers go faster. And finally the Super Combined, where the skier has to do a Downhill race and then a Slolam race. On the same day! Though stuff.
And speaking of tough, today's bonus prize is all about a tough subject: UNDONE by Brooke Taylor. Here is the blurb:
When Kori Kitlzer, the “dark angel” of the 8th grade, tells Serena Moore that they are more alike than she thinks, Serena is instantly intrigued. As their friendship solidifies and their lives entwine, Serena tries to become more like the fearless, outspoken, and ambitious Kori. Soon Serena doesn’t know where she begins and Kori ends. But when a twist of fate yanks Kori away from Serena, she will need to find a way to complete her best friend’s life left undone.Ooh, dark and spooky and mysterious. And two boys! What's not to adore?

Super combined sounds..interesting, but I don't think I'd have the guts to do it :O
I'd go for Super-G. Why have one when you can have them all?
Slolam would be my choice. I am too scared to try anything more adventurous LOL,,
Downhill for me! I have no sense of direction so I know I'd get confused going through all of the poles.
I think I'd rather race Downhill. It seems like the safest one for me. :)
I would want to race downhill. :)
Oh, I have no idea, I haven't tried any of it! But Super Combined sounds like fun ;)
I'd go for Super Combined since you have the fun of both slolam and Super-G. The speeding downhill with nothing else sounds too "easy" for me. (as in: there's nothing but speed)
Slolam please! I think it would be a bit more exciting than going just down, but not as hard as the Super G and Super Combined. :D
I'd go for the Slolam. I don't really know why, but i think the Slolam's for me ^_^
Imagining that I have the skills to ski, the Super Combined definitely!
I'd try the downhill. I'm afraid I'd hit the poles if I tried the others!
I would definitely try downhill because I am not very adventurous. =]
Slalom or downhill. The other scare me!
Downhill - for the simple reason that I have a very short attention span so I'd be likely to get distracted if I had to dodge obstacles and I'd miss them or fall or something. Plus, I'm kind of impatient, I'd just wanna go down the hill straight and fast as possible. =P
I'd compete in the Slalom. Then I'd be able to go back and forth but not need to travel at such high speeds.
Downhill would be the safest bet.
I like the Downhill, I think it's fun and all about speed.
Super G for me!!! Hehe! I'm crazy like that =)
I definitely think I'd like to try Super G! I would love going that fast!
honestly? none of them! a friend just tore her ACL while skiing and that just makes me a more dedicated non-skier... how about that very safe cross-country skiing? that sounds good! (and I bet you could read at the same time, so win/win!)
I actually AM a downhill skier so naturaly, i would LOVE to be in the downhill race! i love the speed and the feeling of the wind rushing across my face... I LOVE DOWNHILL SKIING!!!
Super Combined sounds challenging. However if I was a skier, which sadly I am not. I think Iw ould choose Downhill. I always wanted to learn how to do it.
Wow, I'd be terrified, but Downhill sounds like the easiest (and less likely to hit something) race to do!
I would do downhill, sounds the most simple.
Downhill sounds the safest of the choices so that is the one I would do
downhill definately sounds like it would be the least pain inducing, so i'm going to go with that...the others just SCREAM injury. =/
I'd love to do any of them, but I think I'd just go with downhill, because I want to go fast, but not with flag poles flying at me, which is what the slolams look like.
I would do downhill. Seems like it must be the "less painful" event should I "decide" that I'd rather go down the hill on my face!
I've been obsessing over the Winter Olympics these few days,
I've learned a lot hehe! I think I would
definitely prefer Downhill. Downhill seems
like the easiest and less scary of them all.
downhill...playin it safe :)
I would say the Downhill. Less things to focus on. :P
Super G. Although, I'm a snowboard gal...
Love, Hannah
Downhill, I'm sure I will less likely to die!
I like watching the Super G, but if I could actually balance on skis (major klutz here) downhill would probably be safer.
Oh I love downhill skiing and I'd be downhill all the way. Much easier than having to do multiple events in one day.
I would go downhill. Seems like the only direction I'd know how to go, lol
I would go for Slolam. It seems fun but not as difficult as the others.
I'd do the downhill one because I'm not coordinated enough to do Slalom. I would like fall and end up rolling down the course, painfully. So for that reason I'd do the basic downhill one.
I'd do the Super Combined simply for the adrenaline rush XD
Downhill. I'm a coward. It'd be fun for sure! =D
Downhill, because, in my mind, if your not weaving around, and your going in a straight line, you should gain more speed than the others right?
I'd probably have to choose the Super G. I've gone skiing before and I love just cruising down the mountain. I want to go far, but I don't want to be doing multiple races in one day! A day full of casual skiing is tough enough on the legs as it is.
None - I would be so, so awful remember Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards well I would be the girl version but even worse :)
I think Downhill.
It's the safest of the Skiing that won't have me crashing bodily into a tree! :)
I would prefer none at all - I've never been skiing and I plan on keeping it that way. My friend broke her hip skiing, and now I'm afraid of it!
I agree with Erica.. but... if I HAD to choose one.. ummm Downhill.
Oh gosh... I think I'd probably have to go with downhill. To be honest, the idea of skiing kind of scares me now, after my last brutal wipeout where I somehow managed to crash head-first and scrape up a couple long gashes on my face.
I'm probably a basic downhill kind of person. I feel like it's the one where I would have less of a chance of hurting myself.
The downhill just sounds too fast and scary for me. Slalom or Super G could be fun though and all that twisting and turning would do wonders for my waist and thighs!
Downhill sounds like my kind of fun. Not too much required of me except to go fast.
aaaaaam, let me think: none, I'd die trying to ski.

I would choose, if any, the Downhill. It seems less complicated which means there's less of a chance for me to get hurt. Badly.
None. Tried to ski once, fell a thousand times and vowed to myself never to ski again.
I think that I would like to do the basic downhill if I could ski and was good enough to compete.
I've never been skiing before, but I would choose downhill.
