How's this for a way to wind up the second semi-annual Contest of Olympic Proportion? I think it's pretty phenomenal.
To enter today's contests, tell me about your favorite moment from the Vancouver Olympics? There are so many to choose from. The Chinese couple who won the pairs skating gold, Joannie Rochette skating to a bronze medal just days after losing her mother, or Chris Del Bosco taking a risk to go for gold and losing bronze in the process. Or even the crazy pants worn by the Norwegian curling teams! Answer in comments for your chance to win Oh. My. Gods. and Goddess Boot Camp and one of the prize packs. Also, because this is the grand finale, Shelley and I are offering up an extra bonus prize of a tee shirt each.

I guess when Canada beat Russia in hockey.

I loved the curling event. The way they have to scrub the floor juuuust right. xD
Ok I don't know if this will count but my favorite moment in the Olypmics was watching my daughter watched speed skating. At school each homeroom was given a country and her country was big in speed skating. She would watch and cheer and cheer and cheer. Then this one female speed skater from her country (The Netherlands) won and she (my daughter) was sooooo excited. So I guess my favorite moment was when a skater from the Netherlands took gold in a speed skating event.
Definitely the Norwegian Curling Team's Pants! :)
My fave was the Norwegian Curling team's crazy pants lol
I think my favorite moment was Shaun White's Double McTwist 1200. Or whatever it was called. That was crazy awesome!
Chris Del Bosco taking a risk to go for gold and losing bronze in the process! I could not believe it!! I feel so sad for him...
i'm not that big a fan of watching sports on TV, but my favourite moment, being German, was when two young German women got silver and bronze in Skeleton. It wasn't Gold, but tehy were both so genuinely happy about it. And then I heard that because support for Skeleton isn't so big in our country, she had to paint and sell mugs to earn the money to go to Vancouver. I'm just in total awe for that amount of determination.
I loved seeing Ohno win his record breaking sixth medal!
I loved it when the Canadian snowboarder won the first GOLD medal for Canada and when the Canadian female ice skater won bronze after her mother death...
My favorite part was watching Apolo Ohno come back from fourth place to second when two of the SK;s fell! That was intense!!
Joannie Rochette's strength of spirit to skate on even after her mother's death, will stay with me for a long, long time. That was absolutely terrific. I almost cried for her.
Besides, the Opening Ceremony was a stunner!
And thanks, for the wonderful contests, Tera. It's been my favourite part of Feb :))
i honestly don't have a favorite part at all. i don't think i watched even one even the whole time the Olympics were on. =|
I think the Chinese pair figure skaters were my favorite part. Their story was great and I'm a sucker for a great story.
My favorite moment will be when CANADA TAKES HOCKEY GOLD!!! WOOT WOOT! GO CANADA GO!!!
I didn't watch the whole thing and I don't particularly root for specific countries to win but my favourite part of the winter olympics to watch is always the skating, I just adore watching figure skating. :]
My favorite moment was when the four man bobsled team won gold! We hadn't had a gold in 64 years in that sport!
My favorite moment was when STEVEN HOLCOMB AND HIS BOBSLED TEAM BROUGHT HOME THE GOLD FOR USA!!! WOOOOOO!!! GO STEVEN ADN TEAM!!! YEAH!!! The reason i'm sooooo excited is cuz Steven is from MY HOME TOWN and i have MET him!!! His cousin is my BFF so i got to meet him! He is awesome! GO STEVEN AND TEAM AND THE NIGHT TRAIN!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!
"My favorite moment will be when CANADA TAKES HOCKEY GOLD!!! WOOT WOOT! GO CANADA GO!!!" <-- haha, I was going to post this!
I think my favourite moment was Joannie Rouchette winning bronze in the women's figure skating. What an amazing girl, skating that well just days after her mom died. I think everyone in Canada was rooting for her.
My favroite part was the iceskating in its whole. I love it! The skaters make it look so simple.
My favorite moment was when figure skater Kim Yu Na beat the world record in the short program and the overall total score with 228.56! I loved watching her performance. It was absolutely beautiful and amazing. Snaps for her!
Jeannie Rochette's short program is a close second and Mirai Nagasu's free skate performance is my third favorite moment!!
Grace Lee
MY favorite memory from the Olympics must be all medals my home country took. Especially when Anja Paerson won a bronze medal in women's super combined.
Less than 24 hours before she had the silver medal in downhill within her grasp and the finish line in sight when she literally took off flying nearly 60 metres before crashing to the piste. It was a wonder that she could even walk after that crash, and taking a bronze medal the next day - wow!
It was pretty cool when Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir got gold :)
There are so many great moments, but I have to say that I loved, loved the Norwegian curling teams' pants. They were awesome, in an interesting way.
I think when Joannie Rochette went on to compete and won the bronze medal just days after her mom passed away. Really brave and immense will power i must say.
i'd have to say curling. i'd never watched it before and thought it would be really boring, but it was actually really cool! i was surprised.
I liked watching the couples skating events!
Definitely the ice skating. Just love seeing all their costumes.
I loved when the Canadian Woman's Hockey team took the gold. i love hockey and seeing as I have dual citizenship with Canada and America, the final game was awesome. But I was glad Canada won because hockey is there thing. They should win it. So yes. The Canadian Woman's hockey team getting the gold was my favorite part.
i liked the skating events.
Watching people fall while cross country sking
What was your favorite moment from these Olympic games? I loved figure skating, and ice dancing ♥
luli_.22(at)hotmail(dot)com
My favorite was when Apollo Ono did the massive jump over the two skaters who had collided. So cool!
My favorite moment would have to be when the US beat Canada 3-5! That was amazing! I'm really into hockey =) LOL!
My favorite moment was when the Korean figure skater, Yuna Kin, won her gold medal. She seems really sweet and I know she (and all the other competitors) practiced their asses off over and over again...
I also thought Shuan White's boarding was sick!
Love, Hannah
Thanks again for all the fun Olympics posts - I'm going to miss those!
My fav moment was watching the Chinese couple figuring skating and seeing their love and passion basically oozing onto the ice. Sheer beauty.
My favorite moment was when I actually got to go to Vancouver and see one of the womens hockey games. It was incredibly awesome.
My favorite moment(s) happened frequently. I always enjoyed seeing someone fall. I know that sounds mean, but it shows and proves to me that these are REGULAR people competing, and that everyone falls down, but seeing them get right back up is, I guess you could say, inspiring. I guess it's kind of like a life lesson. These people have been training for years, and with one fall, it can be all over. When they just get back up and keep going, it shows that they know they probably won't get the gold, but you managed to get to the Olympics. That says a lot already. Not everyone can say that.
My favorite moment was watching Apolo Ohno win his 7th medal!
My favorite was Shaun White--everything he did, especially when he won the gold for that awesome run he had.
I would have to say that my favorite moment of the Vancouver Olympics was watching Shaun White in the half pipe. When he won gold it was amazing. I had to stay up and watch to see if he was going to win gold. That is my favorite moment from the 2010 Olympics.
I loved the figure skating events.
I have a few favorites...I loved it when Apollo Ohno took silver, it was absolutely inspiring. Evgeny Pleshenko from Russia taking silver was beautiful as well =]. Oh! and I cant forget Shaun White he was absolutely sick! The women's skiing with the cute little lindsey girl. ugh it stinks to see it come to an end. OOOOO and the luge! that was SOOOO cool.
I have so many favorite moments, but I think my favorite would have to be Shaun White's amazing victory! Other favorites include Rochette skating after losing her mother, Virtue/Moir winning gold, Bilodeau earning the first gold on home soil for Canada, and the 1500m short track.
My favorite moment was definitely the figure skating! My favorite winter sport by far. Also, I loved seeing Apollo! US was incredible!
I'm Chinese so I'm biased when I say my fav moment is the Chinese couple figuring skating :D
I was so disappointed because I didn't get the chance to watch any part of the Winter Olympics this year. =(
My favorite moment was the figure skating. I love the sport! Kim Yu-Na was amazing!
I have to say figure skating was my fave it makes me zone out a bitand think about becoming a figure skater lol but to cold and falling on ice hurts. My daughter likes dancing to the music when we were watching she dances to almost everything lol

I love the ice skating! And curling. There is something intriguing about it.
My favorite moments were seeing the Americans win medals in the skiing and the speed skating.
The only event I got to watch was Ice Skating and a little bit of something I had never seen before... they slid this rock thing and tried to get it in the bulls eye. My favorite part was the Chinese ice skater husband/wife team. Not only were they so well synced, their music was utterly amazing.
I grew up right near Lake Placid (and actually got to dine on tables from the venue during my middle and high school years), so the Winter Olympics have always had a soft spot in my heart. However, my favorite moment this year happened during the four-man bobsled competition when they showed footage from the 1948 bobsled run. My grandfather was a four-man bobsledder at that time, and almost made the Olympics, and seeing the team go down that natural track in made me appreciate why his mother wanted him to quit the sport seeing how dangerous it was. And still is! So, it was great having a team from the US win the four-man bobsled competition after so many years!
