But it's time to pass the torch (and the flag) from China to England, site of the 2012 Olympic games in London! Those should be awesome, too.

Details about the Closing Ceremonies are pretty hush-hush, but there is a lot of speculation that British soccer (aka football) star David Beckham will be on hand to participate.

I'll be sad to say goodbye to Beijing, but I know that London will be just as wonderful. And maybe some of us can plan on attending?!?
And now for our final *sniff sniff* bonus prize: UNDONE by Brooke Taylor.
Kori Kitzler is the "dark angel" of her high school: beautiful, mysterious, the subject of rumors. Serena Moore is just an average girl, until a run-in with Kori in the bathroom in eighth grade. When Kori tells her that they are more alike than she thinks, Serena is instantly intrigued, and their fateful friendship begins.
When the girls are asked to complete a writing assignment listing the five things they would want to happen--their five ways to tempt fate--Serena doesn't take it seriously. But when something tragic happens to Kori, Serena is left with her loneliness and Kori's five things. Can Serena complete her best friend's tasks, or will she leave her list undone?
Sounds awesome, right? Well, to enter to win today I want you to think ahead to 2012, to the London games. What would you like to have accomplished by then? Where do you see yourself four years from now? In college or grad school or working a full-time job? Maybe you want to retire or start a new job or (gasp) become a published author.
In the next four years I'd like to think I'll have several more books published. I'd also like to find my permanent home. (I'm nomadic, and Houston is kind of a "place I am for now.") If I could find that special someone by then it would be nice, but I'm not rushing it. Oh, and I'd also like to have visited all the populated continents. So far I've only got two of six. (I want to visit Antarctica, too, but I'll put that on a longer time frame.)

In 2012 I will have an almost-teenager myself, and I hope to still be writing teen fiction. I encourage everyone who can make it to the Olympics at least once in their lifetime to make it a priority. The 2002 winter Olympics were just around the corner from where I live, and some of my fondest memories to date come from those weeks.
This question is really good!
Okay, in 2012 I will be 19 years old. This is what I want to have done by then:
1. Graduate high school.
2. Already have got into the college of my dreams (probably UM or FSU).
3. Move out of my house into a cute little apartment with a room for my library :)
4. Still be reading.
5. Write more and become a published author.
6. Do the job I want (still haven't completely decided but I am thinking teaching and writing--like J.K Rowling!)
7. Host a super-amazing contest on my blog like this COOP.
Eek, four years from now I would be on my own! By then, I really pray that I get into an amazing university (passing high school of course). Hopefully discover my dream job and maybe get one or two things accomplished that I and my family can be proud of. If I move out, I hope I will be able to take care of myself and know how to. Like finances and all that.
I just hope I will be living a happy life by then. =)
In 2012 I hope to have graduated college (supposed to next year so it better happen! lol). And hopefully I have a job and life I enjoy. I just want to be happy. :P
Tera, I'm a total Olympics junkie, always have been. So, I've really enjoyed these Games -- Michael Phelps' incredible achievements, watching sports I never ever watch any other time (water polo, anyone?), the stories of personal triumph over incredible adversity (The story of the German weightlifter who held up his wife's photo on the medal stand -- she died in a car accident last year -- still makes me tear up.).
By 2012, I'd like to have at least 12 books out by then -- 12 by 2012! I like that. I'm going to put it up on my office wall. I'd also would like to have visited all of the Lower 48 states by then -- only a few left. Oh, and I'd be really cool to have a RITA by then. :)
In 2012, I'd like to be very successful. I would love to be finished college doing something I love to do, and making good money and I want to be settled down with my boyfriend. I'd also like to be travelling alot.
1. Graduate high school. Well, I will in 2012.
2. Keep writing.
3. Keep reading.
By 2012, I'd like to be finished with college and teaching at one of the zillion local high schools :D
By 2012, I'd like to be finished with college and teaching at one of the zillion local high schools :D
By 2012 I'd like to be in a job that I love and look forward to every day.
Considering I graduate with a BA in History in 2010...I am hoping to be completing my Master's by '12. Hopefully I will have a decent job and man in my life. Right now, my biggest goal over the next few years is accomplishing a Phd.
hopefully i'll be in a really great college. hopefully i will have atleast picked a college by then.
i'll probably be taking courses that will be interesting.
i have no doubt that, being the indecisive person i am, I will have trouble deciding what i want to do in life.
right now i'm thinking of becomming a publisher or something along those lines...maybe an english professor...
I'm always thinking ahead to the future and wondering: can I pull off my dreams? Can I actually make them come true?
In 2012 I will be 22 years old. That fact alone scares me to death but I'm excited and curious about all the things that can happen between now and 2012.
I will be in my third year of college, hopefully at the University of Connecticut or the State Univeristy of New York. I plan on studying Elementary Education so I can follow in the footsteps of some family members and become the first grade teachers my students will remember for years to come.
Also, I hope to have at least one book- maybe two- written and published by then. As amazing as it would be to see my book on the best sellers list, seeing my book on any book shelf would be enough for me. I have a very supporting family (and an aunt who has already claimed first dibs on the dedication page of my first book) who encourage me everyday to get my pieces out in the public, and I really hope to do that by 2012.
Now that I'm growing up I hope the world will offer me more opportunities. We'll see what happens by 2012. :)
2012 is kinda scary to think about cause I'll be 36 by that time. But, I like thinking ahead so, where do I see myself?
1. A published author of children/teen books - at least one book (prayerfully more).
2. A SUCCESSFUL business owner - just this summer, I decided not to go back to teaching so I can open my own tutoring business, AYM Enrichment.
3. Married, w/children (no more than 2)...this is a big dream seeing as though there are no prospects in sight yet.
4. Homeowner
5. I'll be Dr. Raenice Weakly next year, so, by the time 2012 comes, I'd like to be on my way to becoming an expert in reading motivation in children/teens. I want to do more research on this topic.
6. World traveler
7. Debt-free and financially stable/comfortable.
8. I want to be happy, peaceful, and blessed, in whatever God decides to have me do.
2012? I'd like to have at least started college or done that other thing I'm keeping secret...sounds easy, but I've got this stupid health junk screwing me up now and...
So yeah, that's what I'd like to do, doesn't sound like much but it's a start :)
By 2012 I'd have graduated from high school and would be a sophomore in college (hopefully a UC). Hopefully I'd have a part time job and a car by then and I'll either be living at home with my parents or in a college dorm room.
oh my goodness...it sounds so scary to be living on my own w/o my parents to help me with whatever I need, but its exciting at the same time! Haha I'm getting goosebumps just from thinking about it!

In 2012:
-Graduate high school. With good grades.
-Get into a good college, BC, Babson, or Harvard Law.
-Have a collection of short stories written, and an idea for a book.
-Make t-shirts, depending on whether my choice at graphic design is as good as I hope it is.
-Meet Wong Fu, the amazing, Asian, filmmakers in the making.
-Finish a few shorts with my friend that are somewhat decent.
In 2012, I will be 20. I would hope I have a scholarship in college and am in my second year. Doing well in college would be good too. I'd be pretty happy if I found someone special, but I'm not going to rush it either. =] If it happens, it happens. Other than that, I really have so other expectations. =] OH! I'll be able to vote for the next president! Exciting!
Tera, I really enjoyed the contests! :)
Wow, in 2012, my daughter will be in first grade. :) Maybe, she'll have a brother or sister. Fingers crossed. :)

In 2012, I hope to be married and preparing to have my first child. Hopefully by then, I will have visited all the places I have dreamed of (Paris, Africa, Hawaii, etc.) and my life will be a little more settled. Also, I hope to have finished writing my first YA novel! Regardless of whether these things happen, as long as I still have my family, friends, and health, I am more than happy.
I would like to have at least one novel published by 2012. But before that I would have to become a better writer and rid myself of my procrastination habit.
by 2012 I would like to have settled down and have a family

Well in 2012 I will be 21 (legal drinking age! Although I have tasted different alcohols and I don't like them) I hope to have this list accomplished by then:
1. Graduate High School (come on, it's my last year this year so I hope I'm done by 2012)
