When I was in gymnastics in 1st grade, my coach told my parents I needed to play soccer to improve my social interactive skills. I was, am, and always will be a bit of a loner. It's not that I don't like other people (I'm an extrovert, after all--I get energized by being around others) but I'm more of a "get the job done with as little drama as possible" kind of girl. I can be a team player when it counts, of course. I just think things get done faster and more efficiently without a bunch of chefs in the kitchen.
Anyway, keep in mind the concept of team when you think about today's bonus prizes: ZETA OR OMEGA? and THE NEW SISTERS (from the Sorority 101 series) by Marley Gibson (writing as Kate Harmon).

High school is already a distant memory for incoming Lattimer University freshmen Jenna, Roni, and Lora- Leigh. Jenna can't wait to meet cute college boys, Roni can't wait to get away from home, and Lora- Leigh . . . well, Lora-Leigh couldn't care less. She's going to LU and participating in sorority recruitment only to appease her mom. Sorority girls are pretty, rich, and snotty, and Lora-Leigh doesn't want to be one of those girls. So she's shocked to find herself actually connecting with the sisters of Zeta Zeta Tau. And her new friend Jenna can relate. She came to recruitment only because her roommate begged her to, but now she can't decide which sorority to join; she likes them all! Roni, on the other hand, knows which sorority she should join, but she came to LU to reinvent herself. As recruitment progresses and the girls prepare to make big decisions, they'll need to heed the best advice there is: follow your heart. Now where will it lead?

As freshman year at LU kicks off, Lora-Leigh, Jenna, and Roni are all equally thrilled to have found a home in the Zeta Zeta Tau sorority. Lora-Leigh still can't believe she's wearing a sorority pin and, what's more, that she and her new sisters have become so close so fast. Roni already loves her sorority, so when it comes time to elect a new member president, she can't keep herself from adding her name to the ballot. And Jenna can't keep herself from being in two places at once! The girl has a full load of classes, a demanding antisorority roommate, a marching band scholarship to uphold, and lots of sorority activities to attend. How's a girl supposed to appease everyone and everything-not to mention strike up a romance with a very hot fraternity boy-all the while keeping her diabetes hidden? Lora-Leigh and Roni are there for her, but initiation is on the horizon and Jenna must decide if she really trusts her new friends enough to share her secret.
I bet you can guess today's contest entry. Dish on whether you're a team-oriented person or if you prefer to get things done on your own. Like I said, for the most part I'd rather work on my own. Writing is my major exception. Although I have to do all the actual word-by-word labor completely on my own, I rely on a lot of other people on my team. Besides my agent and editor (who of course provide feedback) I also have a few critique buddies who help me brainstorm when I'm stuck and look over pages to make sure I'm on the right track. Sometimes you just need the perspective of someone outside your brain.

So solo.
Coordinating people's time is a nightmare.
In a group, not as leader though. I like to feel like i'm a part of something and meet new people.
Solo. I've always seemed to be better at solo sports (tennis, swimming, etc). I like to know all the work and/or blame is mine.
I think I work better in a team. I'm in a sorority & on the executive board of my school's Inter-Cultural Exchange, and my friends in both (and all the others i'm in!) definitely keep me motivated. I'm more of an idea person than a details one - I'll come up with a fundraising activities, but I probably shouldn't be trusted to make the sponsorship calls- but if I have people I care about depending on me, I won't let myself let them down.
I'm more of a solo player. Whenever we have group projects in school I get kind of agitated because it normally doesn't go 100% as I plan. Most people start talking to others in the group and work doesn't get done. Because of that, I just like to do my work and be done and not have to worry about getting a bad grade because of someone else.
Usually both are fine with me. I prefer not to lead, but to be the worker when in groups. Working alone is good because I can trust myself to get the job done, where as I can't trust my team always.
Definitely part of a team. I've always played team sports and lately, I've started running 5K's. It's so much harder to stay mentally strong solo. When I run, I'm by myself with no one to pick me up or vice versa. I love the team feeling of working together. :) Great question. :)
TLC! I love your Olympic contest posts! I have resisted posting before today b/c I don't want to "enter" the contest, but then I remembered I could just tell you as much! You know my situation - I have fabulous opportunitites for fabulous books ALL the time, so I don't want to take them away from other posters. But I want to comment, so anytime I do, don't enter me... I want others to benefit. :)
However, in response to your question today - it really depends on the task as to whether I choose to work alone or in a group. If it's something I feel less confident about, the group really comes in handy. If it's something that I definitely have a handle on (say... hand-selling your newest fabuloso book...) I got that one all on my own. Happy Olympics, TLC! :)

i would rather work in a team, i'm kinda afraid of being alone in anything, well mostly i mean i wouldn't be afraid of being at a store alone, but since i don't mind working with others i definitely would prefer working in a team

I guess I really like working by myself.
Its not that I mind a group but by myself I know things will get done because even though I procrastinate, I have a hard-worker image to keep. So I'll do it, in the end.
With a group that's just never guaranteed and it bugs me.
;}
I'd rather work on my own. But I can also work in a team if I have to.
I work solo a lot because it's easier to depend on me than other people. On a team it can be good because work can be completed quicker, but I don't trust other people to do things well so I inevitably double check their work (for good reason because they usually don't do things correctly). If I was on a sports team, I'd have a different experience, but in working and school, I always did better than other people and became the leader (At work, my supervisors would come to me to learn how to do things or just allow me to take over. I tried not to, and those days the work had to be redone... ugh)
Solo. In every group project I had last year, I did the majority of the work since no one did their part or they did their work wrong. The only bright side to working in groups where I do the most work is that I get a better grade, since we had individual participation grades.
I like going solo on projects in school because I like things going my own way. Also, usually I get a way better grade then working with a partner. Since when I do we usually get chatty and don't focus on the project or the person doesn’t do their work. Which really bugs me. The exception to this is when I have to present something in school. I'd rather have a partner or group than go up by myself.
i would rather work by myself because i usually like my ideas better but when we work in groups, i usually end up doing all the work anyways
I tend to be more of a solo player, but I like working with others if we mesh well. Even in my days of playing basketball, I always preferred the one on one as opposed to the whole team approach. Not as busy, but didn't have to worry about anyone but myself either.
I usually like working solo just because its easier and less stressful for me. I know that kinda goes against the whole "team effort" and "distributing the work evenly among people" thing but whenever I'm working with a group of people I'm always worried that I'm going to do something wrong and that I'm going to let my team down and vice versa with other people in the group not contributing enough and so their letting everybody else down. Wheras, if I'm working by myself and something I have no one else to blame and get mad at but myself.
And then there's also the drama that goes on when working in a group...ugh don't even get me started on that!

I guess that depends on what I'm doing, but usually I like working solo - I think I work better that way.
Depends on what the project is. Let's face it a bunch of women working together can turn into something ugly after a while.
Depends. If my teammates are reliable and responsible, then I'd love to work with them. If not, I'd rather go solo.
If it came to a project...hands down I would want to work solo. I can not stand group projects...they are the most frustrating things ever. I can get the work done ten times faster and at a much better quality by working on my own.
I am an independent person. I really hate working with other people (not my friends tho), usually when the teacher picks out the teams. When it comes to school projects, I like to get the best grades I can for myself. Likely one or two other groupmates won't bother to do anything and they'll benefit from my hardwork.

I'd rather work solo. I'm used to sitting for long periods of time and work better when it's quiet.
Both, I like making friends and being around people, but I can get annoyed.
I don't think I have a strong preference either way. I realize this isn't exactly answering the question, but truthfully it's how I feel.
I love working with other people but it stresses me out trying to make sure everyone is doing their share good while trying to do my own work.
Solo. All the way.
I work best solo or as a leader of a team. Not that I can't work on a team when I'm not the leader, but I prefer the other two options.
I'm best when I work solo. I like doing things my way so that if something doesn't work out I can just blame myself. I don't like working in a team because not everyone puts in the same amount of effort. But I also like groups because then I can get more ideas. But I'd just rather stay solo.
I have always been and always will be a solo person. I'm very shy and am NOT a people person. I got my fathers gene's. But I think it might also because I've moved around a lot and made friends, moved and lost friends, I think it might just be easier being solo.
Solo, I'm independent. However, if I have to work with a partner/team I'm cooperative.
I prefer working solo. I dislike having to rely on other people and I know that I will never let myself down. If being a part of a team is a must, I like to be the leader. That way I am still in charge and even though I am not bossy, results are guaranteed to happen.
I'm definately a solo-kinda-gal.
I'm usually better by myself because I tend to worry about what other people are thinking, or if we're on the same wavelength or not. I don't mind working as a team- just as long as I'm not the leader, lol!

Solo. I am very much a loner. Plus, when I'm in a group I end up being bossy and wanting everyone else to use my ideas. It either is like that or everyone expects me to lead. I guess I just get too many ideas.
Depends on how big the project is. I'm more of a loner, so, working by myself is ideal. But, if the project is too big for me to do alone, I'd choose working as a team.
I prefer to work alone

Most of the time, SOLO. There may be times I would differ with this, but most of the time I prefer my own company.
In soccer? A team. Writing a book? Myself.
